Aerotek in Houston, TX is seeking a Cable Assembler to build large-diameter electrical cable assemblies from start to finish. You will cut, strip, route wires, assemble connectors, and terminate wires into connectors in a focused, air‑conditioned workshop.

The role requires attention to detail, experience with electrical wiring, and the ability to work in a small team with daytime hours and minimal overtime. This is a contract-to-hire position with weekly pay and standard manufacturing benefits.

Job Title: Cable Assembler

This role focuses on building large-diameter electrical cable assemblies from start to finish. You will cut, strip, and route wires, assemble connectors, and terminate wires into those connectors. While there is a small mechanical component to the work, the majority of the position involves precise electrical wiring and connector assembly in a controlled workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Build cable assemblies using established processes and work instructions.
• Cut, strip, and prepare wires for use in large-diameter electrical cable assemblies.
• Route and run wires accurately according to diagrams and specifications.
• Assemble connectors and terminate wires into connectors with a high degree of accuracy.
• Perform light mechanical assembly required for connector installation on cables.
• Use crimping tools and other assembly equipment to complete cable and connector builds.
• Inspect completed cable assemblies and connectors for quality and proper function.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members in a small workshop setting to meet production goals.
• Adhere to scheduled working hours and support minimal overtime when needed.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of hands‑on cable assembly experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience building connectors used in large-diameter cable assemblies.
• Previous work with connectors or cable products from manufacturers such as Draka, Prysmian, or Amphenol is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with electronic assembly processes and quality standards.
• Comfort working with both electrical and light mechanical tasks.

Work Environment

The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with minimal overtime required. The setting is production‑oriented yet comfortable, allowing you to perform detailed assembly work consistently throughout the day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
