Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) in Ogden, UT seeks an experienced Software Engineer or Systems Engineer to support the U.S. Government on C4ISR systems. You will help lead a complex system integration effort, provide documentation, and ensure design alignment with defense industry best practices.

You will travel ~30% and collaborate with multiple disciplines to deliver mission-critical services, certifications, and secure software architecture analyses for national security projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• 8+ years of software/systems engineering experience on complex systems.
• Experience in containerized environments and software testing.
• Proficiency in object-oriented languages (C#, C++, Java).
• Familiarity with SysML (Cameo) and API interfaces.
• DoD-like security and secure software development familiarity.
• Strong requirements management including development, validation, and verification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to deliver field-ready systems.
• Oversee software architecture design for a complex system of systems.
• Assess software design from requirements through integration testing.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Work with government customers as a subject matter expert.
• Ensure subsystems integrate with minimal issues.
• Support certification by decomposing non-functional requirements.
• Perform threat assessments, vulnerability analyses, and secure architecture reviews.
• Contribute to requirements analysis, design, and verification activities.
