Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory in Ogden, UT seeks an experienced Software Engineer or Systems Engineer to join our C4ISR Systems Division embedded with a U.S. Government team working on advanced Air Force training systems.

You will contribute to complex system integration, document decisions, and support DoD DevSecOps practices while traveling about 30% to government, contractor, and customer facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (CS/CE/SE).
• 8+ years of software/systems engineering for complex systems.
• Experience with containerized environments.
• Proficiency in C#, C++, or Java.
• Experience with SysML (Cameo).
• Requirements management and verification processes.
• Knowledge of secure software development and DoD practices.
• Willingness to travel ~30% (4 trips per quarter) and ability to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to meet system requirements and enable flawless operations.
• Oversee software architecture and multi-level designs for complex system of systems.
• Assess software design from requirements through system integration test plans.
• Document risk mitigation strategies and support design decisions with the customer.
• Ensure subsystems integrate with minimal issues and enable government ownership.
• Engage daily with cross-functional teams and partner entities.
• Contribute to requirements analysis, threat assessments, and secure software architecture.
• Decompose non-functional system requirements into software components for certification.
