Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) in Ogden, UT seeks an experienced Software Engineer or Systems Engineer for the C4ISR Systems Division to support advanced Air Force training systems within a government team. You will help lead a complex system integration effort, produce technical documentation, and enforce defense-grade software practices.

The role requires 8+ years in software/systems engineering, proficiency in C#/C++/Java, SysML and Google Protocol Buffers, and the ability to travel about

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (CS/CE/Software Eng).
• 8+ years of software/systems engineering experience on complex systems.
• Experience in containerized environments and SDLC.
• Proficiency in C#, C++, or Java and Google Protocol Buffers.
• Familiarity with Day 0/1/2 operations and SysML (Cameo).
• Requirements management: development, validation, tracing, verification.
• Risk assessment, test strategy, and integration metrics.
• Secure software development practices and DoD alignment.
• Strong written and oral communication; customer liaison ability.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain DoD clearance; travel ~30%.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to meet system requirements.
• Oversee software architecture and multi-level designs for a system of systems.
• Assess software design from requirements through integration testing.
• Document risk mitigation strategies and design decisions.
• Work with government customers as SME on designs and tradeoffs.
• Ensure subsystems integrate with minimal issues and support certification.
• Decompose non-functional requirements to software components.
• Engage in software requirements, threat/vulnerability analyses, and tests.
