Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) in North Logan, Utah is seeking a mid-level Systems Engineer to join the CTM division and support RESET services. You will help shape system direction, manage requirements, and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities for national security programs.

Ideal candidates will have a strong engineering background, U.S. citizenship or clearance eligibility, and experience across electrical, mechanical, software, and firmware domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, and 10-15 years of experience; or a Master’s with 8-13 years; or PhD with 4-9 years.
• Strong systems engineering background across electrical, mechanical, software, firmware.
• Experience with V-Model, requirements flow-down, verification and validation.
• Ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and communicate complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Leads major design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and helps shape system direction and technical decisions
• Develops and manages system requirements, ensuring clear flow-down, traceability, and high-quality engineering documentation
• Coordinates cross-discipline engineering across software, hardware, electrical, mechanical, and other teams to drive cohesive system design and verification
• Defines and maintains system interfaces so teams stay aligned and integration runs smoothly
• Owns the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and supports configuration management to keep the program technically organized and controlled
• Identifies and manages risks and opportunities that influence system performance, schedule, and mission success
• Supports technical planning and execution for design, integration, and formal testing activities across the program lifecycle
• Performs systems analysis to evaluate design options, break down complex problems, and guide engineering decisions
• Develops mission CONOPS and provide technical insight and recommendations to the Program Manager
