Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) in North Logan, UT is seeking a mid‑level Systems Engineer to support the CTM branch in the RESET services. You will engage with the C4ISR division on mission‑critical defense technologies and lead design reviews while coordinating multiple engineering domains.

The role requires solid systems engineering experience, strong requirements management, and the ability to mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Requires U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related) with 8–15 years of experience, or advanced degrees with proportionate experience.
• Proficiency with the systems engineering V‑Model including decomposition, integration, verification and validation.
• Experience developing and decomposing requirements with flow‑down and traceability.
• Hands‑on experience with verification using test, analysis, demonstration and inspection.
• Broad knowledge across electrical, mechanical, software and firmware domains.
• Familiarity with MIL‑STD‑810 and MIL‑STD‑461 environmental and EMI/EMC standards.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to mentor junior engineers.
• Ability to lead and communicate with interdisciplinary teams across lifecycle stages.
• Ability to present complex concepts to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Leads major design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and shapes system direction.
• Develops and manages system requirements with clear flow‑down and documentation.
• Coordinates cross‑discipline engineering for cohesive system design and verification.
• Defines and maintains system interfaces for smooth integration.
• Owns the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and supports configuration management.
• Identifies and manages risks and opportunities affecting performance, schedule and mission success.
• Supports technical planning and execution for design, integration, and testing activities.
• Performs systems analysis to evaluate design options and guide decisions.
• Develops mission CONOPS and provides technical input to the Program Manager.
