Job summary

Refuel Operating Company, LLC in Meridian, MS is seeking a C-Store Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, lead a small team, and ensure a clean, well-stocked store that delivers friendly service.

You will help hire and train staff, manage cash handling and compliance with beverage laws, and adapt to a fast-paced environment with evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous retail, food service, or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Work days/hours required, typically five days per week, including some weekends when the Store Manager is off.
• If short-staffed or not meeting standards, may be required to work up to six days per week.
• Works assigned shifts, including at least two nights per week.
• Support daily store operations and complete assigned tasks in line with company policies and area manager direction.
• Ensure compliance with all city, county, and state beverage laws.
• Deliver prompt, courteous service to every customer.
• Lead and assist staff in maintaining cleanliness and organization to achieve store inspection scores of 90% or higher.
• Maintain customer-ready standards, including restrooms, parking lot, fuel islands, counters, and stocked merchandise.
• Ensure accurate cash handling, register balancing, and timely bank deposits.
• Adhere to the Company’s established policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
