Job summary

Alphatec Spine is seeking a Software Engineer II to support development of our surgical navigation and robotics platform. You will design, code, test, and document software to meet FDA quality and reliability standards.

You will work on Unix/Linux based applications in C++, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams and assisting with validation, risk assessment, and regulatory documentation. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in commercial software product development.
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience with C++ and Linux strongly preferred.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies, Git / Azure DevOps / Jira.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high quality applications and frameworks targeting the Unix/Linux platform.
• Design and implement application software in C++.
• Assist product owners and senior engineers in analysing future product features, including feasibility, effort, and technical tradeoffs.
• Perform integration and system level testing of software and software/hardware systems.
• Develop documentation related to software development projects (design artifacts, test plans/cases, etc.).
• Assist with technical support for field-deployed software applications as needed, collaborating with clinical and field teams to gather information and drive product improvements.
