Job summary

HEPCO, Inc. in New Jersey seeks an experienced Business Development Manager to develop and manage a commercial and industrial energy-efficiency pipeline across South Jersey. You will own opportunities from initial outreach through closing and ongoing customer relationships.

The role requires strong business development experience, knowledge of C&I energy-efficiency programs, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendors while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in management, engineering, business, or related field with 5+ years in business development and energy-efficiency programs
• In lieu of a degree, 9+ years of directly related experience
• Commercial and industrial energy-efficiency experience required

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a commercial and industrial energy-efficiency pipeline throughout the assigned territory
• Conduct proactive outreach to identify, prospect, qualify, and close C&I energy-efficiency projects
• Own opportunities from initial contact through closing and continued relationship management
• Advance opportunities through a defined, multi-stage sales process using Salesforce and eTrac
• Establish relationships with commercial customers, municipalities, community organizations, trade associations, and other territory partners
• Serve as a program advocate and increase awareness of available C&I energy-efficiency programs
• Capture customer feedback and field intelligence for program teams
• Refer residential opportunities identified in the field to the appropriate residential program
