Job summary

HEPCO, Inc. is hiring an Energy Engineer to support clean energy and energy-efficiency programs for a major utility in New Jersey. This role suits junior- or mid-level professionals with interest or experience in energy efficiency, building systems, or utilities.

You will provide technical guidance, prepare specifications, review calculations, and validate savings. Travel across NJ will be required as you monitor projects and build strong relationships with customers and partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Energy, Building Science, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years for junior level; 4-5+ years for mid level is acceptable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on energy-efficient technologies to customers, architects, engineers, contractors, and trade allies.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications and calculations for commercial/industrial energy-efficiency projects.
  • Validate energy-savings calculations for accuracy and program requirements.
  • Monitor projects to ensure progress on schedule and maintain CRM records.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders and gather participant feedback.
  • Support program training for prospective participants as needed.
  • Evaluate building plans and whole-building efficiency strategies.
  • Prepare status reports and monitor progress toward goals.
  • Conduct QA activities including inspections and surveys.
  • Travel throughout New Jersey service territory as required.
