Your role

The incumbent is responsible assisting with the administration of order and import operations to ensure the timely distribution of materials ordered by our US and overseas customers. This is accomplished by advising customers of product availability, performing accurate order entry, communicating with the planning and warehouse facilities to ensure on-time delivery, and negotiating revisions with customers if necessary. The second function will also work with the site planner and maintain the production schedule by making weekly updates and real-time changes, informing the site of these changes, and evaluating the feasibility of the changes.

Purchasing Support:

  • Facilitate uninterrupted procurement activities for the Grafton site.
  • Operational procurement of direct spend for Grafton.
  • Operational & strategic procurement of indirect spend for Grafton.
  • Builds and maintains sustainable relationships with suppliers.
  • Improves supply conditions and considering all costs along the value chain.
  • Acts according to Siegfried's quality guidelines and according to national/international GMP/GDP regulations.


Material Planning:

  • Drive cross-functional communication with site procurement, chemical development, production, production planner, and the Quality Unit to ensure the needed materials for production are ready in advance of their need.
  • ERP ownership ranges for bill of materials to data mining to master data. Responsible for reviewing current state and any changes of the ERP pieces with the appropriate departments.
  • Based on MRP demand, create and submit needed requisitions (e.g. cleaning materials, consumables, direct materials, indirect materials) with procurement. Follow up on submitted POs through receipt and release.
  • Measure and publish KPI’s of critical factors such as quantity alignment with demand and limited excess/obsolescence. Responsible to speak to the «why» behind the KPI information.
  • Take a leading role to resolve problem situations affecting material planning. Develop contingency plans to ensure there are no disruptions to planned production.
  • Prepare and report on material risk/mitigation plans.
  • Adheres to all applicable SHE and cGMP regulations
  • Supports departmental efficiency and continuous business process improvements.
  • Adheres to personal and departmental moral, ethical, legal, and behavioral conduct that is in compliance with the Siegfried Code of Conduct.
  • This position includes all other responsibilities that may be necessary to fulfill the duties associated with the position or as may be assigned.


Your profile

  • A B.A./B.S. Degree in Supply Chain or Life Sciences.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with the SAP system is a plus.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or chemical industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cGMP practices are a plus.
