Buyer/Planner Responsibilities:

1. Analyze sales trends, inventory levels, and production schedules to create purchase orders and work orders.
2. Support timely and accurate delivery of products or services to end customers.
3. Utilize company ERP system for inventory management and schedule optimization.
4. Support production, engineering, quality, and material teams.
5. Manage inventory pipelines from NPI to manufacturing.
6. Purchase raw materials, components, and services to meet production and customer requirements.
7. Maintain inventory levels within a specific budget.
8. Maintain relationships with vendors.
9. Review ROPs or Kanban quantities and adjust accordingly based on business needs.
10. Implement and support a KANBAN/PULL system for parts replenishment, including automatic back flushing of mandatory parts.
11. Plan and coordinate all material requirements of assigned commodities and supplier availability utilizing MRP and KANBAN systems.
12. Expedite urgent purchase requisitions for mission-essential items.
13. Identify critical long-lead items, contribute to BOM construction, and support project cost-management initiatives.
14. Support ISO processes to help maintain system integrity.
15. Stay current with changing technologies.

Qualifications for Buyer/Planner:

• 5+ years in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of buying/planning experience.
• Kanban knowledge and implementation experience.
• BOM and Router Entry experience.
• Training in Lean Manufacturing and Transformation.
• MRP working knowledge.
• Vertical Integration experience.
• Injection molding experience (helpful).
• Proficient in relevant computer software applications.
• Good communication and reading comprehension skills.
