Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Los Altos is seeking a Meat Cutter responsible for cutting, preparing, displaying, and selling meat products while delivering friendly, efficient service to customers and Team Members.

You will maintain product quality, assist in preventing spoilage, mentor trainees, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards, while handling knives and heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 14+ months retail experience.
• Completed WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent training.
• Passion for natural foods and Whole Foods Market mission.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry products.
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (sausages, oven-ready, and cured meats).
• Checks product quality against WFM standards.
• Maintains sampling program and displays.
• Monitors spoilage and supports loss prevention measures.
• Mentors Meat Cutter Trainee(s) and supports training.
