Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Presales Application Engineer - Busway in the United States to support our power distribution portfolio for data centres, commercial, and industrial applications.

You will translate customer requirements into manufacturable busway solutions, collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Engineering and Manufacturing, and prepare technical documentation and submittals. This role combines hands-on design with customer-focused pre-sales activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in selecting, sizing, configuring busway systems.
• Ability to review customer specs, one-line diagrams, and layouts.
• Ability to develop busway layouts considering ampacity, voltage, and short-circuit ratings.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, UL 857, NEMA, IEEE and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in busway selection and configuration.
• Review drawings and project requirements to develop appropriate solutions.
• Develop layouts and configurations considering routing and installation needs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes.
• Translate concepts into manufacturable designs aligned with product platforms.
• Collaborate with Sales to develop technical proposals and clarify scope.
• Support engineering and manufacturing to validate capability and lead times.
• Prepare technical documentation and submittal information.
• Provide technical support during meetings, reviews, and site visits.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities to improve cost and performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of tools and standards.
