Job summary

The Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group, Inc. is seeking a Busser to clear and reset tables, maintain restaurant cleanliness, and assist guests as needed. You will report to the FOH Manager or Manager on Duty and help servers with tables to ensure smooth service.

Ideal candidates demonstrate good judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. This role emphasizes teamwork, promptness, and proper personal hygiene in daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Clears away dishes from guests.
• Re-sets tabletops with place settings, wipes down chairs.
• Inspects carpet and flooring for debris or liquid spills.
• Responds to guests’ questions and makes recommendations.
• Sets up and maintains work including setting up tables at shift start/end.
• Carries trays to dishwasher and unloads/wipes trays.
• Sorts and returns dirty dishes and silverware to washing area.
• Stocks stations with silverware and napkins.
• Checks restrooms for cleanliness.
• Assists servers with tables as needed.
• Inspects floor for debris and sweeps/drys as necessary.
• Performs other duties as required by Management.

Job description

The Busser is responsible for clearing, and re-setting tables. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and assisting guests as needed. The Busser directly reports to the FOH Manager or Manager on Duty .

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clears away dishes from guests.
• Re-sets tabletops with place settings, wipes down chairs.
• Inspect and cleans carpet and other flooring when debris/liquid is detected.
• Responds to guests’ questions and makes recommendations as appropriate.
• Sets up and maintains the work including but not limited to setting up tables at the beginning or end of shift.
• Carries trays back to dishwasher, unloads, and wipes trays clean.
• Scrapes and stacks dishes. Returns dirty dishes, silverware to the dishwashing area, sorting and placing them in a prescribed area in preparation for washing.
• Stocks stations with silverware, napkins etc.
• Checks restrooms for cleanliness.
• Responds to any guests’ additional request and assists servers with their tables as needed.
• Inspect floor for debris, spills and sweeps/dries as necessary.
• Other duties as required or assigned by Management.
