Department Summary

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is the intellectual hub ofthe University of Oregon, serving nearly two-thirds of allstudents. Home to more than 800 faculty across 50+ departments andprograms in the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences,CAS is a dynamic and interdisciplinary academic community. Ourfaculty and advisors work closely with students to develop criticalthinking, analytical reasoning, and clear communication skills toaddress real-world challenges. CAS staff and managers are integralto this work, playing vital roles in supporting academic excellenceand advancing the mission of both the College and theUniversity.

The College of Arts and Sciences Division of AdministrativeServices (CASDAS) provides administrative support and sharedservices to the Dean's Office and Academic Support Units (ASUs)across the college. CASDAS is committed to delivering excellentcustomer service and developing effective processes that supportcollege operations.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Interim Senior Administrator for CAS BusinessSystems, the Business Workflow and Operations Coordinator supportsoperational effectiveness through the coordination ofadministrative processes, workflow improvements, and assignedprojects that enhance service delivery across the College of Artsand Sciences.

This position coordinates operational activities, develops andmaintains documentation, procedures, forms, reports, and otheradministrative resources that support consistent businesspractices. The coordinator researches information, compiles andanalyzes data, prepares reports, assists with process improvements,and provides guidance, training, and support to users across thecollege.

Working collaboratively with college leadership, administrativeunits, and campus partners, this position serves as a resource forquestions related to established processes and procedures, assistswith identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, and supportsthe successful implementation of operational initiatives. Thecoordinator helps ensure administrative services are deliveredaccurately, consistently, and in alignment with college policiesand practices.

The Business Workflow and Operations Coordinator manages assignedprojects and operational responsibilities with independence whilereceiving general direction from college leadership. This positioncontributes to continuous improvement efforts by evaluatingprocesses, developing solutions, and supporting effective andcustomer-focused service delivery.

This role is hybrid eligible.

Minimum Requirements
  • Three (3) years of office experience which included two (2) yearsat full performance level and experience generating documents;AND
  • Lead work responsibility or coordination of officeprocedures.

  • Ability to learn and effectively support business workflowsystems, administrative technologies, and operationalprocesses.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, analyze problems, and identify orrecommend effective solutions and improvements.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and provideresponsive, customer-focused support to users with varying levelsof technical expertise.
  • Ability to maintain accurate data, documentation, procedures, andoperational resources with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively acrossdepartments and organizational levels, with a commitment tocontinuous improvement and service excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience administering, maintaining, configuring, orimplementing business systems, workflow platforms, databases, orsimilar technology solutions.
  • Experience developing or configuring workflows, forms, reports,dashboards, automations, or data collection tools.
  • Experience using Smartsheet, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, orcomparable business productivity and workflow platforms.
  • Experience troubleshooting system or workflow issues andproviding technical support to end users.
  • Experience developing user guides, procedures, trainingmaterials, or other system documentation.
  • Experience supporting administrative operations in highereducation or another complex organization.
