Job Description

We are seeking an Operations Leader to join our Controllership Business Unit. As the Business Unit Operations Leader, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence and rigor across a rapidly growing and complex business unit within insightsoftware. The Controllership BU serves customers worldwide, focusing on areas such as Close & Consolidation, Tax, Disclosure Management, Equity Management, and ESG.

Your role will involve leading and influencing cross-functional teams, including directors, VPs, and SVPs aligned with the business unit. You will establish and drive the operating rhythm, cadence, and review structures to streamline the business unit's functions from weekly to annual cycles, collaborating with cross-functional teams and adjacent business units.

You will set x-functional goals, OKRs, and KPIs aligned with the annual operating framework, working closely with peers and the Chief of Staff to ensure these metrics are tracked, reviewed, and used for continuous improvement. The role offers opportunities to lead or participate in various x-functional initiatives such as M&A, product operations, growth teams, data hygiene, P/L rebalances, planning cycles, and resource allocation.

The ideal candidate has a blend of visionary and analytical skills, is financially driven, and possesses tenacity and influence to motivate teams. You will manage the day-to-day operating cadence through standups, QBRs, and check-ins, oversee metrics reviews, and guide planning activities with product and functional leaders. You will also act as a key point of contact for functional leaders, drive strategic initiatives, and support organizational scaling efforts.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Owning the operational rhythm for the BU, including meetings and reviews.
  2. Driving metrics review processes covering pipeline, bookings, and ARR.
  3. Supporting planning activities such as QBRs, annual planning, and pricing updates.
  4. Collaborating with marketing, sales, and other teams to improve processes and data management.
  5. Representing the BU when necessary and facilitating decision-making.
  6. Leading bi-monthly all-hands meetings and executing product strategies and GTM plans.
  7. Managing ad hoc cross-functional projects and M&A activities.
  8. Standardizing tools, processes, and reporting for consistency.
  9. Driving process improvements and ensuring quality in presentations and communications.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in SaaS operations or related roles, leading influence without direct reporting lines.
  • 3+ years in growth roles related to product, GTM, or customer success.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in financials and presentations.
  • Experience with consulting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Financial acumen with a focus on growth, innovation, and retention.
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Owner mindset with the ability to drive change and influence teams.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel, BI tools, Jira, Confluence, SFDC, Smartsheets, etc.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and navigate complex decisions.
