Job summary

Symetra is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to partner with business and technology teams to translate requirements into system enhancements. You will configure workflows, forms, and rules, analyze needs, and support testing and deployments across environments.

The role emphasizes problem solving, learning new systems, and delivering value through continuous improvement of business processes and reporting capabilities. A strong SDLC understanding is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in business systems analysis, operations, technology, or related field.
• Experience with FINEOS or similar configurable platforms strongly preferred.
• Experience with group benefits insurance products is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate business needs into system requirements.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain business applications, including workflows, business rules, forms, user interfaces, and data elements.
• Analyze business needs and support design, testing, and implementation of system enhancements and process improvements.
• Create and maintain documentation, including business requirements, system specifications, and process flows.
• Collaborate with business and technology partners to troubleshoot issues, identify solutions, and improve system performance.
• Participate in requirements gathering, design reviews, testing activities, and implementation planning.
• Coordinate system changes across multiple environments and support production deployments.
• Develop and execute test plans, validate system changes, and support user acceptance testing.
• Provide production support, resolve application issues, and assist users with system functionality.
• Support reporting, data management, and ongoing optimization efforts.
• Contribute to project initiatives and continuous improvement activities that enhance business operations.
