Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Systems Analyst to join our Denver team. The role focuses on analyzing IT systems, business processes, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and align solutions with user needs.

You will translate business requirements into technical specifications, user stories, and use cases, while coordinating with engineers and stakeholders to ensure accurate implementation and testing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Analyze and evaluate information technology systems, business processes, and operational workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.
Partner with business stakeholders to understand user needs, gather requirements, and recommend effective system solutions.
Serve as the primary point of contact between business users and engineering/development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Elicit, analyze, document, and validate functional and technical requirements.
Translate business needs into detailed technical requirements, user stories, process flows, use cases, and other project documentation.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure business requirements are accurately interpreted and implemented.
Identify, document, report, prioritize, and track system defects, issues, and enhancement requests through resolution.
Support system testing activities, including test planning, user acceptance testing (UAT), and validation of delivered solutions.
Assist with change management activities, user training, and documentation to support successful solution adoption.
Evaluate the impact of proposed system changes and recommend improvements that increase operational efficiency and user experience.
Participate in project planning, status meetings, and cross‑functional initiatives while ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a similar IT/business systems role.
Experience gathering, documenting, analyzing, and managing business and technical requirements.
Strong understanding of systems analysis methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Experience serving as the liaison between business stakeholders and engineering or development teams.
Proven ability to identify, document, prioritize, and track system issues, defects, and enhancement requests through resolution.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project environments is preferred.
Familiarity with requirements management, issue tracking, and collaboration tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence is preferred.
Experience supporting enterprise applications, systems integrations, or digital transformation initiatives is a plus.
Knowledge of business process modeling and workflow documentation techniques is preferred.
