The State of North Dakota is seeking a Business Services Specialist to support the Office of the Secretary of State in Bismarck. You will process over 40 filings daily, analyze status for approval, correction, or rejection, and ensure accuracy in complex scenarios while assisting customers in person or by phone, mail, or email.
This onsite role requires strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills, with a focus on professionalism and integrity in every interaction.
Every day as a Business Services Specialist, you will play a key role on the business services team, processing over 40 different business/entity type filings maintained by the Office of the Secretary of State. You will analyze and determine status for approval, correction, or rejection of various filings including complex scenarios that require the ability to research and make decisions.
This position requires accuracy and attention to detail as you assist businesses in forming and maintaining their business status in North Dakota. You will directly assist customers with these documents in-person, or via phone, mail, or email. The is an onsite position located in Bismarck ND.
To thrive in this role, you must be flexible in your daily tasks, be a strong communicator, possess solid decision-making and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy in your work. Work is expected to be performed with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
The hiring salary range for the position is $3,871 - $6,452 per month ($46,452 - $77,424 per year)
To be considered for this role, you must have a high school diploma or GED and two years of office support, clerical, or secretarial work experience. Two years of coursework or a post-secondary education may substitute for work experience if it provides relevant knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of the position.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Three (3) or more years of professional customer service or business administration experience, and knowledge and experience using Microsoft business applications including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word. or one year applied knowledge and experience with Secretary of State functions or applications.
