ND Health and Human Services' Behavioral Health Division in Bismarck seeks an Administrative Assistant to support daily operations, maintain resource records, and assist in coordinating materials for internal and external partners.
You will prepare documents, update SOPs, and handle purchasing transactions with a purchasing card, while upholding confidentiality and delivering strong customer service.
As an Administrative Assistant with the Behavioral Health Division, you will be part of a team working to make sure North Dakotans have access to behavioral health information, resources and support when they need it. Your work behind the scenes will help keep important resources organized, accurate and available while supporting North Dakota Health and Human Services' mission of creating the healthiest state in the nation.
A key part of your role will be supporting the Behavioral Health Resource and Media Center (BH RMC), which provides materials and resources that help educate and support people across North Dakota. You will coordinate and maintain inventory records using both in-office and online resource management systems. By keeping these records accurate and materials available, you will help ensure the right resources can get into the hands of the people and communities that need them.
You will prepare, coordinate and mail materials requested by internal and external partners, making sure requests are completed in a timely manner and the information being shared is current and accurate. You will also help keep the Behavioral Health Division running smoothly by preparing documents, updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and preparing, purchasing and reconciling transactions using a purchasing card (P-card).
To thrive in this position, you should be highly organized and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while staying focused on the details. Whether you are updating a record, preparing a resource request or completing a purchasing transaction, you will understand that accuracy matters because your work supports programs and services that can make a meaningful difference in the lives of North Dakotans.
You should be an attentive listener who can quickly understand what someone needs when they contact the office by phone, email or in person. You may not always have the answer right away, but you will know how to find the information, connect the person with the right resource or identify who can help. You should be comfortable communicating clearly and professionally with coworkers, community partners and members of the public.
You should be dependable, maintain confidentiality and take pride in providing excellent customer service. Most importantly, you should enjoy being part of a collaborative team and recognize the importance of the work happening behind the scenes. Your organization, accuracy and customer service will help Behavioral Health connect people and communities with valuable resources while working toward healthier and safer communities throughout North Dakota.
