Job Description
The Business Relationship Manager collaborates with senior leadership to create technology roadmaps and identify opportunities for innovations that enhance service delivery and business efficiency. Reporting to the Manager of Business Strategic Services within the Department of Information Technology, this role involves strategic partnership and technology planning.
Essential Duties
- Partner with senior business leaders to understand strategic and tactical objectives.
- Work with IT leadership to develop and implement strategies that leverage technology to meet business goals.
- Develop financial models to assess investment needs and benefits.
- Support business process improvements using tools like mapping, modeling, and gap analysis.
- Manage three-year technology roadmaps for assigned departments.
- Identify and prioritize IT performance improvement opportunities.
- Create and present business cases for technology initiatives.
- Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking of solutions.
- Participate in governance to ensure project execution and measure IT investment value.
- Serve as escalation point for service issues.
- Maintain effective communication with executives to align IT needs and manage expectations.
- Collaborate on automation and optimization initiatives through an intake process.
Public Speaking Duties
- Lead meetings and presentations with executive leaders.
- Present proposals and business cases to persuade and inform.
- Opportunities for external speaking are available but not required.

- This civilian position is linked to public safety or IT with public safety ties. Due to the sensitive nature, a background check including motor vehicle, criminal history, and fingerprinting is required.
Grade and Salary
The position is classified as Grade 107. Salary depends on education and experience.
