Job summary

DeVry University’s Advantage Academy in Chicago seeks a Visiting Professor to deliver high school–college integrated courses. In-person instruction blends face-to-face teaching with online discussions and assignments, with 9-12pm or 12-3pm CST sessions and eight-week courses.

Responsibilities include developing syllabi, updating materials, leveraging technology, and ensuring alignment with university requirements while participating in ongoing faculty development and AI-related practices.

Qualifications

• Must hold a doctoral degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the subject taught.
• Unofficial graduate transcripts to be uploaded with application.
• Degrees must be from an accredited institution or equivalent accreditation.
• State licensing/ accreditation considerations may apply.
• Faculty must have subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Develops and provides students with an approved DeVry University syllabus.
• Organizes and revises course materials regularly.
• Uses online technologies and course-related software to prepare and deliver courses.
• Models clear oral and written communication to engage students.
• Publishes course objectives and schedules and allocates evaluation weights.
• Ensures exams align with course objectives and provide timely feedback.
• Demonstrates fair grading practices and AI responsible use in the classroom.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
