Job summary

Critical Loop is seeking a Business Operations Assistant (Student / Entry-Level) to support facilities and hospitality needs at Torrance and Long Beach locations. This on-site, part-time role is ideal for someone organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn about operations in a growing startup.

You will handle day-to-day admin tasks, coordinate with vendors, stock supplies, plan catering for team meals, and assist with onboarding.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in school or recent graduate (0–2 years experience).
• Organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Able to handle confidential information.
• On-site availability of 20 hours/week in Torrance, CA.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds or more.
• Reliable transportation for local driving as needed.
• Preferred: Coursework in business/operations; experience with Google Workspace; comfortable with spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facilities at Torrance and Long Beach sites with outside vendors.
• Order snacks, office supplies, and kitchen essentials for teams.
• Plan and set up hospitality and catering for lunches, meetings, and events.
• Prepare and ship packages to remote employees and manage mail/delivery.
• Handle supply runs and local errands between sites (reliable transport; mileage reimbursed).
• Assist People & Talent with onboarding needs.
• Support ad hoc administrative requests including printing and day-to-day tasks.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Business Operations Assistant to help keep the day-to-day running smoothly as we grow. You’ll support our Business Operations team with facilities and hospitality needs, general administrative requests, and ad hoc requests as needed. This is a hands-on role for a student or someone early in their career who is organized, detail-oriented, and wants to learn about facilities operations for a growing start-up company.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance of facilities at our Torrance and Long Beach sites, working with outside vendors to keep both locations running smoothly
• Order and stock snacks, office supplies, and kitchen essentials so teams always have what they need
• Plan and set up hospitality and catering for team lunches, meetings, and events
• Prepare and ship packages to remote employees, and manage incoming mail and package pickup and delivery as needed
• Handle supply runs and local errands between sites as needed (reliable transportation required; mileage reimbursed)
• Assist People & Talent with new hire onboarding needs
• Support team with ad hoc administrative requests, including printing and other day-to-day needs

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in school, a recent graduate, or 0-2 years of work experience
• Organized and detail-oriented, with a track record of following through
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Comfortable handling confidential information
• Available 20 hours per week on-site in Torrance, CA
• Ability to lift 25 pounds or more
• Reliable mode of transportation for local driving during the workday, if needed

Preferred Requirements

• Coursework in business, operations, or related
• Prior experience in an admin, office, retail, or customer-facing job
• Experience with Google Workspace or similar tools
• Comfortable in spreadsheets (sorting, filtering, basic formulas)

Compensation

Pay range: $18 to $25 per hour
