Requirements of the Business Office Manager:
- Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college
- 1-3 years of related experience
- Knowledge of Medicare and experience in skilled nursing
- Successful completion of a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical/drug screen
Responsibilities of the Business Office Manager:
- Work directly with residents to obtain billing information and ensure payment collection, collaborating with the Revenue Cycle Management team
- Evaluate and monitor the financial viability of admissions
- Manage resident trust funds and communicate financial information to residents and families
- Collect patient liabilities, copays, and private pay charges
- Coordinate Medicaid applications and approvals with residents
- Update and send documentation to RCM team, participate in weekly meetings to ensure collections
- Accurately input information, submit bills, and oversee collections
- Verify daily census, post cash, bill Medicaid, Medicare, insurance, and private pay
- Collaborate with the facility to ensure all residents have a billable payer source and facilitate Medicaid processes
- Obtain direct deposit for income sources
