Job summary

Fragomen in Detroit is seeking a Business Immigration Consultant to perform substantive, client-facing work in employment immigration matters. You will handle case preparation, filing petitions, and case strategy, working with clients to gather information and resolve issues.

You will use case management systems to track status, generate reports, and support team productivity while ensuring compliance with firm standards and SLAs.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or Paralegal certificate plus 4 years of business immigration experience
• Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of business immigration experience
• Strong knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas and client processes

Responsibilities

• Perform substantive client-facing work including case preparation and filing of petitions with government agencies
• Oversee case status using case management and billing systems; generate reports as needed
• Work with clients on intake, case strategy, and process improvements
• Draft clear, well-organized written work demonstrating immigration knowledge and problem-solving skills
• Communicate promptly with foreign nationals and client contacts regarding case status and inquiries
• Meet SLAs and communicate case progress, escalations to supervisor
• Assist in hiring and training new team members and drive team productivity
