Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Business Immigration Attorney for a full-time, hybrid position based in Fairfax, VA, or Silver Spring, MD. The role involves managing a business immigration caseload, providing strategic legal counsel, and supporting clients throughout the immigration process.
Duties
- Manage a high-volume caseload of employment-based immigration matters.
- Prepare and file petitions and applications including E-2, H-1B, L-1, O-1, J-1, PERM, EB-2 NIW, and EB-1 cases.
- Draft legal briefs, supporting documentation, and responses to RFEs and other agency requests.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely filing with USCIS and other government agencies.
- Provide legal guidance to corporate and individual clients on immigration options and strategies.
- Communicate case updates clearly and professionally to clients.
- Work closely with paralegals and support staff to prepare filings efficiently.
- Stay current on immigration laws, regulations, and policy updates.
Requirements
- Active bar membership in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business/employment-based immigration law.
- Experience handling E-2, H-1B, L-1, O-1, PERM, EB-2 NIW, and EB-1 cases.
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
Certifications
Active bar membership in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction.
