Job description

As a Business Development Rep (BDR), you will act as the first contact for many Applause prospects with the objective of assisting our field sales team in selling products and services. Successful Enterprise BDRs will possess a demonstrated ability to develop strong business relationships and sell products in a fast-paced environment. Must be highly competitive with the ability to collaborate in a team environment, possess strong interpersonal and communicative skills.

The BDR is responsible for partnering with the Sales organization in driving the early stages of the sales cycle and helping in New Customer Acquisition. The Enterprise BDR team also works closely with the marketing team to follow up on marketing campaigns, events, conferences, and seminars.

Responsibilities:
  1. Generate outbound qualified opportunities per quarter within target industry accounts, including diagnosing business pains, identifying Applause’s solutions, and understanding prospects’ infrastructure, timelines, and budgets.
  2. Act as the single point of contact for inbound calls/requests in the assigned region, qualify these opportunities, and pass them to the relevant Enterprise Account Manager.
  3. Support internal industry or solution-specific marketing campaigns and events in the region.
  4. Work with the Enterprise Account Manager team to identify accounts, conduct territory planning, and research within focused industry verticals.
  5. Develop a ‘Why Applause, Why Now’ proposition for each prospect interaction and collaborate with the sales team to follow up on new leads and opportunities.
  6. Maintain accurate records and forecasts within the sales database (SalesForce.com CRM) and utilize prospecting tools such as LinkedIn, Data.com, Hoovers, etc.
  7. Conduct targeted and non-targeted account prospecting and qualification via phone.
  8. Achieve pipeline and forecast goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  9. Develop and present plans for acquiring new business and increasing traction in your assigned area, including activity breakdowns, milestones, and resource needs.
Qualifications:
  1. Experience in executing prospecting and new account development campaigns in local regions.
  2. Experience in the Enterprise, SaaS, Cloud, or High Tech Industries.
  3. Excellent communication skills, comfortable speaking with C-level contacts.
  4. Understanding of SaaS, Cloud Computing, and related services.
  5. Ability to craft persuasive emails and written communications.
  6. Creativity and leadership in executing strategies.
  7. Minimum 1 year of sales, telesales, or marketing experience in outbound enterprise B2B demand and lead generation activities.
  8. Experience with marketing automation/lead nurturing tools such as Hubspot, Eloqua, Marketo, etc.
  9. Strong influencing skills and the ability to convey urgency.
  10. Confident, mature, with strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  11. Self-motivated, driven, and dynamic personality.
  12. Attention to detail and forecasting abilities.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is included in accordance with current legislation. The base salary is $50,000 plus uncapped commissions. Salaries may vary based on location, experience, education, and performance.
