Job description

We're Hiring! Business Development Representative (BDR)

We're looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to build the pipeline that powers our growth. You'll be the first point of contact for future customers, researching accounts, starting conversations, and handing off qualified opportunities to our Account Executives. Full onboarding, clear targets, and real earning potential from day one.

At RealWear, we're a small team taking on the giants of tech - and winning. As the global leader in assisted reality head-mounted displays, we put real-time, hands-free expertise into the hands of frontline workers at some of the world's largest enterprises.

About the Role

You will own outbound prospecting for your assigned segment, working closely with senior sales team members who provide guidance and support along the way: researching target accounts, running multi-channel outreach, and qualifying interest before handing off Sales Accepted Opportunities (SAOs) to our Account Executives. Your success is measured by SAOs delivered each quarter, not just activity - so you'll learn to prioritize the accounts and messages that actually convert.

As we're a small company, expect the role to be a bit dynamic as you spot opportunities for growth along the way. To be clear about scope: this BDR role is different from a founding BD position, it plugs into a defined pipeline process (prospecting, qualifying, feeding a structured handoff to Account Executives) rather than building that process from scratch.

Beyond hitting your number, you'll help sharpen how we prospect: testing messaging, refining cadences, and sharing what works with the rest of the team. Strong performers get a clear path to Senior BDR and beyond, based on results, not just tenure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and prospect new business opportunities through outbound calls, emails, social selling, and other creative outreach.
  • Qualify inbound leads generated by marketing campaigns and route them appropriately.
  • Research target accounts and industries (manufacturing, energy, utilities, construction, logistics) to understand pain points and tailor outreach.
  • Partner closely with Account Executives to build and execute territory plans.
  • Support select global account initiatives when needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospecting activity in HubSpot.
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for qualified meetings and pipeline generated.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on campaign feedback and messaging that resonates with the US market.
What You Will Learn

This role is demanding and requires resilience and initiative - but in return, you'll gain hands-on ownership of full-cycle outbound prospecting at a fast-growing technology company: account research, cadence design, objection handling, and CRM discipline, with direct exposure to how a modern sales organization builds and manages pipeline.

What We Are Looking For
  • Excellent English, additional languages a plus especially Spanish
  • Prior experience or an internship in sales, business development, or a customer-facing role is a plus, but not required
  • Comfortable picking up the phone and starting conversations with strangers
  • A structured, organized approach to managing a high volume of accounts and follow-ups
  • Resilience and a growth mindset - you'll hear "no" a lot before you hear "yes"
  • Curiosity and coachability: you actively look for feedback and apply it
Why Join Us?

At RealWear, a BDR seat isn't a dead end, it's the fastest way into a full sales career. You'll have real earning potential from day one, with a competitive base salary plus uncapped commission - the more pipeline you generate above target, the more you earn, with no ceiling. Your first quarter is fully protected while you ramp up. Strong, consistent performers move to Senior BDR based on results, not time served.

And because work should feel good too: a sports contribution, a flexible remote setup, and most important a kick-ass team that makes everyday worth fighting for - even from a distance!
