Market Development Manager - Data Center

Your role and responsibilities

The Industrial Sales Specialist will work closely with key players in the F&B, Data Centers, Renewable Energy, Water/Wastewater & Infrastructure market segments. The primary focus is building long-term relationships with stakeholders, securing ABB ELIP products as the preferred solution, and driving business profitability. The role involves visiting end-user customers and decision-makers to understand their needs and specify ABB products, executing the market plan, and maintaining communication with the Market Development Manager.

This is a remote position, ideally located in the North Carolina - Virginia - DC region. The role contributes to the Electrification Installation Products Division in the South Region and mainly involves:

  1. Understanding segment customer needs and proposing solutions from ABB ELIP portfolio.
  2. Researching market trends and providing intelligence to support new opportunities.
  3. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  4. Identifying and developing relationships with new end-users, engineering firms, OEMs.
  5. Delivering technical and CEU training to stakeholders.
  6. Collaborating with internal teams to meet sales targets and implement strategies.
Qualifications for the role
  • BS/BA in business, marketing, engineering, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical specification/product marketing in the electrical industry.
  • Proven track record in customer and business development.
  • Understanding of product portfolio applications in the market segment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
  • Legal work authorization in the US.
