Industrial Sales Specialist - South - Data Center

Reporting Line

This position reports to the Market Development Manager - Data Center

Role and Responsibilities

The Industrial Sales Specialist will work closely with the largest players in the F&B, Data Centers, Renewable Energy, Water/Wastewater & Infrastructure market segments, building long-term relationships with key stakeholders, securing ABB ELIP products as the preferred solution, and helping drive profitability growth. The role involves visiting end-user customers and decision makers to understand needs, applications, and specify ABB's products. The specialist will execute the market plan, report, and maintain contact with the Market Development Manager.

This is a remote position, ideally located in the North Carolina - Virginia - DC region, contributing to the Electrification Installation Products Division in the South Region.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Market Understanding: Understand customer needs, propose solutions from ABB ELIP portfolio, and support sales in market penetration. Gather market intelligence and participate in internal knowledge sharing.
  2. Customer Relations: Build and maintain relationships to ensure satisfaction and growth.
  3. Specification Development: Develop relationships with end-users, engineering firms, OEMs, and decision makers to secure specifications for ABB products.
  4. Training: Provide technical and CEU training to stakeholders.
  5. Sales Collaboration: Work with internal teams to align strategies and achieve sales targets based on the go-to-market plan.
Qualifications
  • BS/BA in business, marketing, engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years in technical specification/product marketing in the electrical industry, preferably in Transportation & Industrial OEM markets.
  • Proven track record in customer and business development.
  • Ability to understand and communicate product applications and value-added solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50%.
  • Legal work authorization for the US.
