This position reports to

Market Development Manager - Data Center

Your role and responsibilities

The Business Development Manager will work closely with the largest players in the F&B, Datacenters, Renewable Energy, Water/Wastewater & Infrastructure market segments, building long-term relationships with key stakeholders, securing ABB ELIP products as the preferred solution, and helping drive profitability growth. The role involves visiting end-user customers and decision-makers to understand their needs, applications, and specify ABB’s products. The successful candidate will execute the market plan, report, and maintain contact with the Market Development Manager. This is a remote position, ideally located in the North Carolina - Virginia - DC region, contributing to the Electrification Installation Products Division in the South Region. Main responsibilities include:

  1. Understanding segment customer needs and proposing solutions from the ABB ELIP product portfolio.
  2. Building and maintaining relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and growth.
  3. Identifying and developing relationships with new end-users, engineering firms, OEMs, and decision-makers to achieve specifications for ABB ELIP products.
  4. Delivering technical support, training, and CEU sessions to stakeholders.
  5. Collaborating with sales and product management to meet sales targets and implement strategies.
Qualifications for the role
  • BS/BA in business, marketing, engineering, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical specification/product marketing in the electrical industry, preferably in Transportation & Industrial OEM markets.
  • Proven track record in new customer/business development and customer relations.
  • Ability to understand the product portfolio and apply solutions to market segments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
  • Existing work authorization in the US.
