Position Summary
JSat is currently seeking a skilled and dynamic Business Development Manager. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key accounts in the life sciences industry. This includes expanding market presence, securing new clients, driving revenue growth, identifying and securing new opportunities within existing clients, developing proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing deals. The Business Development Manager will engage with key decision-makers and technical experts, build business relationships, and demonstrate the value of our products and service offerings. The role requires a mix of technical knowledge, sales skills, and strategic planning.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop and own relationships with key accounts in the life sciences industry.
- Identify opportunities, create leads, and successfully close sales opportunities. Collaborate with relevant partners and customers to bring prospective sales opportunities to successful close.
- Develop a business plan to achieve growth goals by identifying, advancing, and closing deals. Work with your office to set a "road map" for growth within your market, including target markets, vendor relationships, education programs, local tradeshows, and advertisements.
- Create product value propositions tailored to each vertical and customer persona for services and product offerings.
- Drive and record business development efforts and sales pipeline progression in CRM (Zoho).
- Stay updated on the latest trends in automation and the life sciences industry.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
- Engage internally to share feedback, opportunities, and challenges regarding service offerings, customer feedback, and competition.
- Lead conversations with clients on designing, developing, installing, and supporting systems in areas such as Automation, Validation, and IT.
- Interact with client personnel to identify and analyze opportunities for system upgrades, studies, collaboration, etc.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with stakeholders to facilitate successful collaborations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to travel at minimum 50% of the time.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, computer science, business administration). An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
Experience
- 5+ years of industry experience, with proven ability in business development—generating leads and closing deals.
- Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, MES, DCS, IIoT, and Robotics in the life sciences industry.
- Proven success in leading cross-functional teams and executing complex projects.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the capacity to influence, inspire, guide, and mentor.
- Ability to define and execute a strategic vision aligned with company goals and market trends.
- Expertise in building and managing client relationships, meeting stakeholder expectations, and ensuring successful project delivery.
- Strong understanding of industry-specific business operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and market analysis.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with internal teams, clients, and partners.
- Experience in industry events, digital marketing for lead generation, crafting proposals, and managing contracts.
Salary
DOE: The pay range for this position is $120k - $150k per year plus incentives for sales; base pay may vary depending on experience and knowledge. This does not include additional benefits such as health, vacation, etc.
