Job summary

Hurtigruten, a globally recognized travel brand, seeks a Business Development Manager - East to drive growth across the Eastern United States from a remote location. You will develop strategic territory plans, manage partner relationships, and lead training sessions and events to boost revenue.

The role requires Salesforce usage, strong presentation skills, and travel as needed. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in sales, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and proven ability to build long-term

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales and customer service experience.
  • Strong account management and business development experience.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.
  • Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
  • Ability to travel throughout the territory as required.

Responsibilities

  • Own and develop a designated territory across the Eastern US.
  • Maximize sales opportunities with existing partners and new accounts.
  • Create and implement annual sales and marketing plans with partners.
  • Deliver training sessions, presentations, webinars, and product updates.
  • Organize industry events, trade shows, and consumer presentations.
  • Maintain pipeline management, forecasting, and activity in Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, and Group Sales.
  • Monitor market trends and provide insights to the team.

We're looking for a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager - East to join our Americas Sales team. If you thrive on building strong partnerships, driving commercial growth, and representing an iconic travel brand, we'd love to hear from you.

Location: Eastern or Central Time Zone, United States (Remote)

What You'll Do

As Business Development Manager, you will own and develop a designated territory across the Eastern region of the United States, maximizing sales opportunities through existing partners while identifying and cultivating new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop and execute strategic territory plans to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Build, manage, and grow relationships with key travel trade partners and accounts
  • Create and implement annual sales and marketing plans with strategic partners
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to drive revenue growth
  • Deliver engaging training sessions, presentations, webinars, and product updates to travel advisors and consumers
  • Organize and participate in industry events, trade shows, and consumer presentations
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity and provide insights to the wider team
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and account activity within Salesforce
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, and Group Sales teams
  • Manage travel expenses and marketing investments to ensure strong return on investment
We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of sales and customer service experience
  • Strong account management and business development experience
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint
  • Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce
  • Ability to travel throughout the territory as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within the travel, cruise, hospitality, or tourism industry
  • Experience developing strategic sales plans and managing key accounts
  • Strong understanding of partner marketing and co-op programs
