Business Development Manager, Builder Accounts

As a Single Family Business Development Manager for our Moen brand, you will develop a market strategy targeting national and regional single-family home builders to grow builder business and expand market share in Southern California. You will collaborate with other territory managers and support wholesalers in the market.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in outside sales and large account management, be highly autonomous, and willing to travel overnight approximately 1-3 nights per month. Experience in contract negotiation and managing a P&L is also desirable.

This remote role is based in the Los Angeles area. We provide a company car, laptop, and cell phone. The salary range is approximately $100,000 to $130,000 base, with a bonus opportunity based on territory performance. The territory includes Southern California, covering Paso Robles, Bakersfield, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Achieving annual sales goals and contributing to overall business targets.
  • Collaborating with the Regional Manager to develop a market strategy focused on builders, owners, contractors, developers, and architects.
  • Growing relationships and market share with top builders at the national, regional, and local levels.
  • Mentoring Territory Managers to develop their BDM skills.
  • Partnering with Territory Managers to set and achieve annual targets.
  • Building professional relationships with strategic builders.
  • Maximizing the use of the Moen product portfolio with single-family builders.
  • Driving specifications for national companies at the regional level.
  • Utilizing technology and process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Supporting the Regional Manager in developing a support network for sales maximization.
  • Preparing and presenting fact-based business proposals to key decision-makers.
  • Managing budgets to maintain and grow business.
  • Monitoring and communicating market trends, consumer attitudes, and competitive practices.
  • Organizing resources to maximize sales with strategic customers.

Basic qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of outside sales experience.
  • Contract negotiation skills with key accounts.
  • Understanding of marketing and product development environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Market analysis and strategic response capabilities.
  • Flexibility to travel and work non-standard hours.

Preferred qualifications:

Salary range for this role is estimated at $100,000 to $130,000, with additional bonus or incentives based on performance.
