Business Development Manager, Builder Accounts

As a Single Family Business Development Manager for the Moen brand, you will develop a market strategy targeting national and regional single-family home builders to grow builder business and expand market share in Southern California. You will collaborate with other territory managers and support wholesalers in the market.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in outside sales and large account management, be highly autonomous, and able to travel overnight approximately 1-3 nights per month. A background in contract negotiation and managing a P&L is also desirable.

This remote position is based in the Los Angeles area. We provide a company car, laptop, and cell phone. The salary range is from a base of $100,000 - $130,000, with a bonus opportunity based on territory performance. The territory includes Southern California, such as Paso Robles, Bakersfield, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Achieving annual sales targets and contributing to the overall sales plan.
  2. Collaborating with the Regional Manager to develop a market strategy focused on builders, owners, contractors, developers, and architects.
  3. Expanding relationships and increasing market share with top national, regional, and local builders.
  4. Mentoring Territory Managers to develop BDM skills.
  5. Partnering with Territory Managers to set and attain annual targets.
  6. Building professional relationships with strategic builders.
  7. Maximizing the Moen product portfolio with single-family builders.
  8. Driving specifications for national companies at the regional level.
  9. Leveraging technology and process improvements to increase efficiency.
  10. Supporting the Regional Manager in developing the sales support network.
  11. Developing and presenting fact-based business proposals to decision-makers.
  12. Managing budgets to maintain and grow business.
  13. Monitoring business trends, consumer and trade attitudes, and competitive practices.
  14. Organizing resources to maximize sales with strategic customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of outside sales experience
  • Contract negotiation skills with key accounts
  • Understanding of marketing and product development environments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Market analysis and strategic response skills
  • Flexibility to travel and work non-standard hours

Salary range is estimated at $100,000 to $130,000, with additional bonus or incentive plans based on performance.
