The Business Development Manager (BDM) provides superior patient support and customer service via proactive intervention, communication, and patient advocacy, as well as emotional and educational support to patients and families coping with limb loss and/or orthotic and prosthetic needs.

The BDM should have a thorough understanding of prosthetics, orthotics, and the healthcare field. The role involves patient consultation, comfort, and guidance through referral, surgery, recovery, treatment, and rehab. The BDM will deliver the highest level of service to patients, referral sources, and colleagues by coordinating and managing prosthetic and orthotic patient care, building relationships, and creating new opportunities.

Working closely with Hanger prosthetic personnel, office staff, and other Business Development Managers, this role manages communication with patients, the internal team, and healthcare providers involved in patient care.

Your Impact
  • Ensure new patients are contacted after initial consultation
  • Coordinate AMPOWER visits
  • Build and maintain referral relationships for Hanger Clinic
  • Support patients post-surgery
  • Maintain patient engagement through follow-ups
  • Provide information and resources to patients and families
  • Assist with upcoming visits, fittings, and insurance documentation
  • Develop strategies to maximize revenue and generate new referral sources
  • Work in hospital, skilled nursing, and rehab settings, completing vendor credentialing
  • Monitor territory performance and develop growth plans
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in a patient care environment
  • Credentialing at major hospitals

Preferred:

  • ATC, CNA, MA, EMT, Surgical Technician, LVN, PTA, Physician Extenders, OTA, or similar certification
  • BA/BS in Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
Additional Success Factors
  • Medical sales experience, especially therapeutic, home health, or hospice sales
  • Motivated, target-driven, with a proven sales record
  • Ability to operate independently and cultivate relationships
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency with MS Office; Salesforce experience preferred
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel
