The Business Development Manager (BDM) provides outstanding patient support and customer service through proactive communication and patient advocacy. The role involves providing emotional and educational support to patients and families dealing with limb loss and other orthotic/prosthetic needs.

The BDM should have a thorough understanding of prosthetics, orthotics, and healthcare. Responsibilities include patient consultation, guiding patients through referral, surgery, recovery, and rehab processes. The BDM builds relationships with healthcare providers and develops referral networks, managing communication with patients, internal teams, and healthcare professionals involved in patient care.

Your Impact
  • Follow up with new patients after initial consultation
  • Coordinate AMPOWER visits
  • Build and maintain referral relationships
  • Support post-surgery patients with ongoing care
  • Engage patients with follow-up communication and appointments
  • Provide information and resources to patients and families
  • Assist with insurance documentation
  • Maintain communication with healthcare professionals
  • Develop strategies to maximize revenue and generate new referrals
  • Work in hospital, skilled nursing, and rehab settings, completing vendor credentialing
  • Monitor referral trends and develop growth plans for clinics
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in a patient care environment
  • Ability to be credentialed at major hospitals
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as ATC, CNA, MA, EMT, Surgical Technician, LVN, PTA, Physician Extenders, OTA, or similar
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
Additional Success Factors
  • Experience in medical sales, especially therapeutic, home health, or hospice
  • Self-motivated and target-driven
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office; Salesforce experience preferred
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel
