Crypto Tax Calculator (CTC) is seeking an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing team.

Backed by Airtree, Folklore Ventures and Coinbase Ventures, CTC is a fast-growing company with hundreds of thousands of loyal customers across 23 countries. Founded in 2018 by brothers Shane and Tim Brunette, our mission is to empower people globally to better understand their tax obligations with a self-service tool that simplifies the process of identifying, tracking, and organising crypto transactions.

You will play a pivotal role in driving CTC’s expansion within the US market, helping us unlock new opportunities in enterprise, institutional, and government sectors. The US's rapidly evolving crypto landscape presents exciting opportunities, and this role is central to establishing CTC as the go-to solution for tax reporting in the US. You’ll navigate complex, high-value sales cycles, build partnerships with key stakeholders, and ensure CTC adapts to local market needs, regulations, and customer demands.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Expand US Market Presence: Establish and grow our US market presence, driving lead generation and securing high-value partnerships with exchanges, accounting firms and enterprise clients.
  • Grow Enterprise Sales: Lead solution sales for a highly technical product, managing long, consultative sales cycles and translating complex solutions into business impact.
  • Build Strategic Relationships: Build and manage long-term client relationships, serving as the primary contact and trusted advisor for partners, regulators, and key decision-makers.
  • Ensure Long Term Value: Drive post-sale engagement, ensuring retention, expansion, and long-term value through consultative support.
  • Technical Sales: Engage in deep technical discussions, articulating the product’s architecture, compliance features, and competitive differentiation.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with founders, product, engineering, and marketing to align client needs with the product roadmap.
  • Navigate Regulatory Environment: Navigate regulatory risk and compliance (AML/KYC, RegTech, tax, blockchain analytics), ensuring sales strategies align with legal requirements.
  • Advise and Educate: Educate and advise clients on compliance standards to position our products as a risk management solution.
  • Deal Acceleration: Manage complex sales cycles autonomously, leveraging partnerships and strategic initiatives to accelerate deal progression.
  • Sales Operations: Develop scalable sales processes, playbooks, and sales enablement tools.
  • Remote Leadership: Proactively engage in a remote-first environment, ensuring collaboration across global teams and time zones.

About You

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Technically adept, able to communicate complex solutions to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proactive and resourceful, with strong problem-solving abilities and a bias for action.
  • Passionate about startups and innovation, with engagement in early-stage ecosystems.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a remote-first, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years in sales, strategic partnerships, or business development within FinTech, crypto, RegTech, or compliance-driven industries, ideally with early-stage startup experience.
  • Expertise: Proven track record in SaaS, solution selling, partnerships or complex IT sales, with knowledge of blockchain, DeFi, compliance.
  • Education: Degree in business, IT, engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
