The Intake & Sales Business Development Manager manages customer relationships, supports business growth, leads customer-facing staff, and serves as a trusted industry resource for customers and prospects. This position serves as the primary liaison between the company and its clients, ensuring high customer satisfaction while identifying opportunities to expand services and strengthen partnerships.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of wastewater treatment, biosolids management, organics recycling, composting, and related environmental service industries. Success in this role requires relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, team leadership, and the ability to communicate complex industry topics to customers and stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in account management, customer relationship management, business development, or a related client-facing role, with a demonstrated record of building and growing long-term customer relationships and identifying opportunities that align with organizational goals, including extensive regional travel (travel allowance provided).
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage complex customer interactions and communicate effectively with customers, executives, regulators, stakeholders, and internal teams.
Experience leading, mentoring, and developing professional staff.
Knowledge of the wastewater, biosolids, organics recycling, composting, environmental services, or related industries, including adjacent industrial, municipal, or utility sales backgrounds.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, competing responsibilities, and complex projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and customer service.
7+ years of experience in environmental services, waste management, wastewater treatment, recycling, composting, or related industries.
Established network of industry contacts within municipal, industrial, utility, or environmental sectors in the assigned region, with a track record of growing customer portfolios and managing key accounts with significant revenue responsibility.
Advanced experience negotiating contracts, service agreements, pricing structures, and strategic partnerships.
Experience serving as a trusted advisor to customers, with a demonstrated ability to build credibility and trust with diverse stakeholders, from front-line personnel to executive leadership.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with experience representing organizations at conferences, trade associations, and industry events, plus professional certifications, industry association involvement, or leadership roles related to environmental services, wastewater, recycling, or sustainability.
Advanced knowledge of transportation logistics and disposal markets, and proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
