Job description

Primoprint is a family-owned, Charlotte-based online print company that has spent 20 years

making everyday business print easy to order and dependable to receive, such as business

cards, flyers, brochures, direct mail, labels, and more, for small and medium businesses across

the United States, alongside a growing range of consumer products. We are an asset-light,

web-to-print retailer: we pair genuine print expertise and premium finishes with real, human

service.

We are now investing in growth. A specialist external agency runs our digital marketing,

covering paid advertising, SEO, GEO, social and email, to drive traffic and self-serve product

sales through our website. You will own the account and relationship side of the business,

winning, reactivating, and growing business accounts, resellers, and larger accounts.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Business Development Manager to generate, win and grow new

business for Primoprint. This is a build-it role for a genuine self-starter. You will work directly

with the Managing Director to set sales targets and a simple plan, then go and deliver them.

You will build your own pipeline through outbound prospecting and by mining our existing

customer base, hunting and winning new accounts, reactivating lapsed customers, and standing

up our reseller and business-account programs. You will be a team of one to start, with the

autonomy and the support to make a real, measurable difference.

Reports to: Managing Director.
Works closely with: our external digital marketing agency, our digital platform and product teams, the customer service team, and our production and supplier partners.
What You'll Do
  • Hunt new business. Identify, approach, and win small and medium business accounts
  • Mine and upgrade our customer base. Use our order data to find high-frequency and high-potential business buyers who currently self-serve small orders, and convert them into managed accounts with larger, recurring spend.
  • Reactivate lapsed accounts. Rebuild relationships with business customers who have gone quiet and bring them back.
  • Build the reseller and business-account programs. Launch and grow our Business Account Platform and trade/reseller channel to lock in repeat, higher-value customers.
  • Work the account inquiries. Handle the genuine sales inquiries that are not simple online orders, such as account requests, volume and custom quotes, large jobs, phone and chat, qualifying, quoting and closing, and own the CRM and pipeline end to end.
  • Grow existing accounts. Cross-sell our expanding range, including promotional products, small-business and commercial packaging, wide-format and signage, and direct mail.
  • Own targets and reporting. Work with the Managing Director to set, track and hit sales targets, and report clearly on pipeline and results.
  • Partner with marketing. Feed our digital agency market intelligence on what business customers are asking for and which segments are hot, so their campaigns stay sharp.

Your own sales pipeline is self-generated.

  • Work across teams. Partner with our digital platform and product teams, sharing what business customers want and where the opportunities are so it can shape our product range, pricing and website.
Who We're Looking For
  • A proven new-business hunter who has built pipeline from a standing start, not only managed inherited accounts.
  • A strong track record in sales across both B2C and B2B environments, ideally within e-commerce. Our business is primarily B2C today, with a smaller B2B segment we are actively growing, so someone who understands both models is a real asset. Experience in print, promotional products, or packaging is a plus.
  • Comfortable being a self-sufficient team of one, working alongside an external agency rather than needing a department around you.
  • Confident across the full cycle: prospecting, outbound outreach, qualifying, quoting, closing and account growth.
  • Organized and CRM-disciplined, with the commercial sense to help shape targets and priorities.
  • Confident with CRM tools, customer segmentation and purchasing-data analysis. We hold a large existing customer base, and turning that order data into targeted business opportunities is central to this role.
  • Genuinely service-minded, a fit with our plain-speaking, pick-up-the-phone culture.
Nice to Have
  • Experience selling into reseller, trade, or print-broker channels.
  • Familiarity with web-to-print or online ordering, and with converting self-serve e-commerce customers into managed B2B accounts.
  • An existing network in the SMB, print, or promotional-products space.

Travel
