Based in The Carolinas, we have assembled a dedicated team passionate about the future of the health-conscious consumer. Our portfolio includes hemp-derived beverages, infused waters, and various flavor-forward non-alcoholic drinks.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Sales Leader, the Business Development Manager - Texas will be responsible for revenue growth, team leadership, and key account development within Austin, Dallas, San Antonio and Houston areas. This individual will play a key role in managing territory sales, overseeing a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs), and developing strategic relationships with key accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consumer packaged goods (CPG) sales, preferably with experience in the beverage alcohol (Bev-Alc) industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Territory Revenue Management (40%)

  • Achieve monthly revenue targets for each market within the assigned territory.
  • Identify account gaps, uncover opportunities, and develop tailored solutions to address in-market challenges.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline of leads and revenue opportunities.
  • Provide regular sales pipeline updates and actively pursue growth initiatives.

Territory Team Management (40%)

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs).
  • Coach, train, and uphold sales best practices, standards, and expectations.
  • Monitor and hold team members accountable for achieving monthly key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Utilize Encompass ERP to track and assess team productivity.

Key Account Development (20%)

  • Identify chain account opportunities across various channels within the territory.
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with key buyers.
  • Position Functional Distro Co. as a preferred partner and drive strategic growth in high-priority accounts.

Reporting Structure:

The Business Development Manager will directly oversee and add additional roles as necessary to support the sales team’s growth:

  • Business Development Representatives
  • Key Account Managers

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in CPG sales team management, with a strong preference for beverage industry experience.
  • Proven ability to drive sales growth and manage sales teams effectively.
  • Experience with sales management tools such as VIP SRS or Encompass ERP.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel 35% of the time to meet customers and team members.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market conditions.

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, plus bonus opportunities.
