Business Development Leader

Albany, NY area

Location: Remote + Travel

Ideal candidate will reside in Albany area but must be located in the Northeast for this position. Will cover sales in the northeastern territory and must be close to a major airport.

Salary: Up to $100,000 per year plus commission based on experience.

Job Purpose:

The Business Development Director (Inpatient) will develop new business and client solutions for PMC’s service lines, primarily focusing on sales of management contracts, behavioral health integration initiatives, and consulting.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales and marketing initiatives for PMC’s services.
  • Implement sales strategies in the designated region.
  • Achieve sales goals and revenue targets.
  • Develop and manage ongoing strategic partnerships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Support transition of new contracts with Operations and provide ongoing support.
  • Perform operational assessments, feasibility studies, and consulting.
  • Manage sales opportunities within the territory.
  • Prospect for potential clients and expand business.
  • Develop call strategies with key states in the region.
  • Conduct cold calls to build a pipeline of opportunities.
  • Meet potential clients, maintain relationships, and develop proposals tailored to client needs.
  • Handle objections and negotiate effectively.
  • Attend meetings, training, events, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets, aiming to close at least three contracts in the first year.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health or business; Master’s preferred.
  • 10 years of healthcare sales experience preferred.
  • 5 years of proven experience in contract management and solutions development.
  • Experience selling service contracts to hospital CEOs.
  • Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient mental health services.
  • Understanding of CON processes, care environment issues, and hospital industry.
  • Experience with psychiatric management contracts is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and licensure is a plus.
  • Strong team, problem-solving, and results-oriented skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with SharePoint/OneDrive.
  • Self-reliant, flexible, and adaptable to changing priorities.
