Job summary

Heart to Heart Hospice in San Diego is seeking a Business Development Director to lead sales initiatives, manage territory growth, and build relationships with physicians, hospitals, and senior care facilities.

You will develop regional sales plans, recruit and mentor Community Education Representatives, and ensure compliance with Medicare regulations while driving referrals and revenue. This is a full-time role with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sales management.
• 3–5 years of professional sales experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Proven history of developing sales and growth.
• Knowledge of Medicare Hospice Benefit preferred.
• Strong leadership, customer service, marketing, and employee development abilities.
• Current Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Call on physicians, hospitals, SNFs, assisted living facilities and other senior settings to promote referrals and community resources.
• Develop and implement territory business plans and manage sales time/resources to meet goals.
• Co-Lead regional and program-specific sales plans with ED and Sales Leadership.
• Assist with recruitment, training and evaluation of Community Education Representatives.
• Grow CER teams by sharing knowledge and mentoring teammates.
• Support after-hours and weekend consultations as needed.
• Utilize CRM and tools to manage accounts and performance.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and policies.

What You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and knowledge in sales management
• A minimum of 3-5 years professional sales experience, preferably in the healthcare industry
• Demonstrated history of developing sales and growth
• Knowledge of business management and a working knowledge of the Medicare Hospice Benefit preferred
• Strong leadership skills plus expertise in customer service, marketing, operational excellence and employee development

What You Will Do

• Call on physicians, area hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities or other senior living settings to promote hospice referrals, Heart to Heart Hospice House, and community resources.
• Develop and implement territory business plans and manages sales time and resources according to plan, adjusting as necessary in order to satisfactorily complete the plan and meet established goals.
• Co-Lead the development and implementation of regional and program specific sales plans in conjunction with the ED and Sales Leadership
• Assist with the recruitment, hiring, training and evaluation of Community Education Representatives
• Assist in the growth and development of others CERs sharing knowledge, experience, and wisdom; act as a guide and role model to help manage the CER Teams
• Flexibility in work schedule as referral source, patients and families may require after hours and weekend consultations
• Utilize customer relationship management software and other tools provided to effectively manage accounts and performance.
• Performance of other duties as required
