Job summary

The Matlen Silver Group, Inc. is seeking a Business Analyst for a short-term contract in Atlanta, GA (onsite).

The role focuses on turning data into actionable business insights using BigQuery SQL and Tableau, with strong Excel/PowerPoint proficiency and clear technical communication to diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will translate business questions into analytical models, develop customer segmentations and value metrics, and support data extraction, modeling and analysis for marketing

Qualifications

• Experience with Google BigQuery SQL and Tableau.
• Proficient with PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to analyze, evaluate and interpret complex data using intermediate statistical/quantitative techniques.
• Skilled in translating business questions into analytical models.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clear and concise reports, charts, tables and presentations to support business decisions.
• Collaborate across the organization with cross-functional teams to provide expert analytical support.
• Develop and validate customer segmentations; compute customer value metrics; support ad-hoc data extraction, modeling and analysis.
• Analyze impact of potential business decisions on customer spend.
• Interpret statistical results and suggest modeling improvements.
• Analyze transaction data to identify purchase triggers for future value customers for predictive marketing campaigns.

Must haves:

• Prior experience with Google Big Query SQL and Tableau
• Proficient with PowerPoint and Excel

• Prior experience in Python
• Previous experience in retail analytics strongly preferred
• Knowledge of advanced quantitative and data science methods and techniques
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent
