Job summary

First Interstate Bank seeks a Business Analyst to partner with business leaders, Enterprise Architecture, and technology teams to analyze needs, document requirements, and identify process improvements. This role drives requirements gathering and supports project delivery across multiple initiatives while balancing business objectives and risks.

The candidate will translate business needs into functional specifications, create BRDs and user stories, and maintain RTM throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 4–6 years of business analysis, project delivery, operations, banking, technology, or related experience.
• Financial services experience preferred.
• Business Analysis certification such as CCBA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes existing business processes, identifies gaps and inefficiencies, and recommends improvements.
• Gathers, documents, validates, and manages business requirements for projects and initiatives.
• Translates business needs into functional requirements, process flows, and user stories.
• Creates business requirements documents, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and RTM artifacts.
• Maintains the Requirements Traceability Matrix throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partners with stakeholders to prioritize requirements, manage scope, and align outcomes with objectives.
• Documents reporting, data, and measurement requirements to support decision‑making.
• Supports testing activities by ensuring requirements are represented in testing and defect resolution.
