Job summary

First Interstate Bank is seeking a Business Analyst to partner with leaders across IT and lines of business to analyze needs, document requirements, and identify process improvements. You will coordinate with architecture and QA, create BRDs and user stories, maintain RTMs, and guide testing to ensure delivery.

The role requires 4–6 years in business analysis and a Bachelor's degree, with banking experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience independently eliciting, documenting, validating, and managing business requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to evaluate business processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Strong facilitation skills with the ability to lead stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements discussions.
• Ability to translate business needs into functional requirements, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting project artifacts.
• Experience maintaining requirements traceability and supporting validation activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• The Business Analyst independently partners with business leaders, Business Relationship Managers, Enterprise Architecture, and technology teams to analyze business needs, document requirements, and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Translates business needs into functional requirements that support successful solution delivery; creates BRDs, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and RTMs.
• Maintains the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) and ensures requirements are traced through design, testing, and implementation.
• Partners with stakeholders to prioritize requirements, manage scope, and align outcomes with business objectives.
• Documents reporting, data, and measurement requirements to support decision‑making; supports testing alignment and defect analysis.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

4-6 years experience

Financial services experience preferred
