• Experience gathering and defining reporting requirements.
• Ability to translate business requirements into data and development terms.
• Experience working with Data Engineering/Development teams.
• Experience supporting defect triage and issue resolution.

Business Analyst - Data focused
Rate: £450-£500 per day
Working pattern: Hybrid - 2 days per week on-siteLocation: Birmingham / Remote

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong data focus to support a major data and transformation programme.
KEY EXPERIENCE - Business Analyst with experience in Local or Central Government holding a strong data focus.

This role will sit between business stakeholders and technical data teams, taking business requirements and translating them into clear requirements for data products, reporting solutions and data development. You won't need to be a hands-on Data Engineer, but you will need a strong understanding of data structures, data flows and how data platforms operate, combined with excellent core Business Analysis skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with business users to understand their data, reporting and information requirements.
• Lead requirements gathering through workshops, stakeholder engagement and analysis.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements for data products and technical delivery teams.
• Understand and document data flows, data schemas and data structures.
• Analyse how data moves through different systems, including Master Data Management (MDM) flows.
