Job summary

Xinova Group is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support data platforms, reporting solutions and client implementations. You will translate business needs into technical requirements and own data validation, QA and UAT with stakeholders and engineering teams.

You will investigate data sources, mappings and workflows, write SQL, build Excel validation models and ensure accurate reporting outputs across platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Business Analyst or related role with testing responsibilities.
• Hands-on SQL and strong Excel skills for data validation.
• Understanding of databases, data models, integrations and data movement between systems.
• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into clear requirements for developers.
• Hands-on QA/UAT experience, including test case creation and defect validation.
• Experience with data reconciliation, mapping or system migrations and implementations.

Responsibilities

Job description

We’re partnering with a real estate investment management and financial services business seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support the delivery of its data platforms, reporting solutions and client implementations.

Working closely with the Senior Product Manager, business stakeholders and engineering teams, you’ll translate business needs into clear technical requirements and take ownership of data validation, QA and user acceptance testing.

This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable investigating data, understanding how systems connect and checking that delivered solutions produce accurate results.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and clarify business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, user stories, development tickets and acceptance criteria.
• Investigate existing applications, data sources, workflows and dependencies to identify requirements and integration risks.
• Define source-to-target data mappings, documenting field definitions, transformation rules and business logic.
• Write SQL queries and build Excel-based validation models to reconcile source data against target systems and reporting outputs.
• Own QA and UAT planning and execution, including test scenarios, reconciliation checkpoints, defect tracking, retesting and business sign-off.
• Validate dashboards, calculated fields and reporting outputs, investigating discrepancies with engineering teams.
• Coordinate with data engineering, application and infrastructure teams to resolve implementation issues and technical blockers.
• Maintain clear documentation, reusable validation templates, mapping guides and implementation checklists.

Required experience

• Experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst or Implementation Analyst with substantial requirements and testing responsibilities.
• Hands-on SQL and strong Excel skills for investigating, comparing and validating data.
• A practical understanding of databases, data models, integrations and how information moves between systems.
• Experience translating stakeholder needs into clear requirements for developers.
• Hands-on QA/UAT experience, including creating test cases, investigating defects and validating fixes.
• Experience with data reconciliation, mapping or system migrations and implementations.
• Clear communication skills and confidence working with both business users and technical teams.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate problems independently.
• Exposure to financial services, asset management, commercial real estate or related financial workflows.
• Sigma Computing, Databricks, Snowflake or comparable analytics and data platforms.
• Financial reporting, accounting data or property and investment-management systems.
• Legacy-to-new-system reconciliation and parallel testing.
• Jira or similar backlog and defect-management tools.
• Automating manual spreadsheet and reporting processes.
