Job summary

West Sussex County Council invites an experienced Business Analyst to join our team. You will analyse information, data analytics, and business processes, plan and document requirements, and support delivery across the programme lifecycle.

The role requires regular office base attendance with flexible home working and occasional travel to other sites. You will contribute to service improvements, support colleagues, and help residents by delivering value.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field or equivalent substantial experience.
• Experienced project manager with the ability to assess project progress, oversee process redesigns, and implement service changes.
• Skilled in conducting research and data analysis, both internally and externally, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
• Experience in business process design, testing, as well as verification and validation techniques.
• Proven ability to understand business requirements and, through a structured process, model, validate, and translate them into comprehensive business requirement specifications.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the successful delivery of the assigned Programme/Project documentation as defined and agreed with the Programme or Project managers, sponsors, or Project Management Office, ensuring it is completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
• Analyse and thoroughly document the business and/or user requirements, developing and publishing all agreed-upon documentation.
• Oversee the production of business processes and planned deliverables.
• Encourage and enhance the skills and capabilities of team members to ensure the successful delivery of assigned work within the Programme/Project team.
• Identify opportunities to reduce non-essential costs within the programme/project, while continuously seeking ways to improve efficiency and add value to the service.
